HARMAN Professional Solutions Introduces the DOD Rubberneck Analog Delay Pedal

New double-wide analog delay pedal delivers double the features, enabling guitarists to shape, bend and control time in exciting new ways

NAMM (Booth #7800), ANAHEIM, Calif.—HARMAN Professional Solutions today introduced the DOD Rubberneck analog delay stompbox, allowing guitar and bass players to create unique musical delay textures and explore new time-based performance effects. The Rubberneck features over one second of pure analog delay with tap tempo for custom time settings, as well as double concentric knobs for shaping the modulation, gain and tone of the effect. The pedal is named after its unique “Rubberneck” feature which gives players the ability to pitch shift from one time setting to another in real-time.

“Rubberneck combines warm and musical 100% analog repeats with unique features and functionality to unlock new creative directions and performance possibilities,” said Tom Cram, Marketing Manager, DigiTech, HARMAN Professional Solutions. “From slapback delays to dizzying pitch sweeps and time stretches, Rubberneck lets discerning players approach their tone and instrument in entirely new ways.”

Rubberneck’s controls include a TIME knob which allows players to set delay times from 30ms to 1000ms, with up to 1500ms delay time available by using the tap tempo footswitch. The transparent RUBBERNECK RATE control pot features a built-in bi-color LED to indicate different operating modes, and lets players control the delay time produced when the footswitch is pressed and held. The REPEATS knob controls the number of repeats the pedal will create, from single note slapbacks to the runaway oscillations analog delays are known for. RATE and DEPTH knobs control the amount of delay modulation to create sounds from subtle chorusing to wild vibrato/tremolo textures. A TAP RATIO switch makes it easy to get repeats that are in time, create triplets, or achieve a doubled feel. GAIN/TONE knobs allow players to shape the tone of the delay by increasing the brightness, darkening the sound and adding more gain. And a LEVEL knob controls the overall output level of the delay signal.

Other controls that add to Rubberneck’s unique functionality include the TAILS switch and REGEN ADJUST knob. The TAILS switch allows players to choose if they want repeats to be heard when bypassing the pedal. The REGEN ADJUST knob flashes the current delay time and adjusts the regen/repeat settings of the secondary delay that is enabled by pressing the TEMPO/REGEN footswitch.

A TRS loop send/return, instrument 1/4” input and output, as well as an FS3X footswitch provide guitarists with greater routing flexibility with amps and external effects. True bypass electronics ensure the purest signal path possible while the pedal is disengaged. Rubberneck uses a 9VDC power supply to easily integrate into any existing pedalboard.

The Rubberneck effect pedal will be available in April 2017 at $312.44 MSRP ($249.95 MAP).

HARMAN Professional Solutions Unveils the DigiTech FreqOut Feedback Pedal

New natural feedback guitar effect pedal gives players the ability to feedback their instruments at any volume

NAMM (Booth #7800), ANAHEIM, Calif.—HARMAN Professional Solutions today announced the DigiTech FreqOut guitar and bass pedal, a unique stompbox that gives players the ability to create full, natural feedback even in situations where volume must be controlled. FreqOut uses advanced pitch detection technology to automatically identify the harmonic content of single notes and chords, then enables those certain frequencies to feed back in a musical way. Players can customize their feedback tones by setting the feedback harmonic, onset speed and level.

“Roaring feedback from an amp can add intensity and musicality to a live performance when used correctly,” said Tom Cram, Marketing Manager, DigiTech, HARMAN Professional Solutions. “FreqOut gives guitarists and bassists a way to create and utilize feedback in an incredibly musical way. Whether creating atmospheric washes of sound or adding infinite sustain to scorching lead sections, FreqOut lets players transform the raw intensity of feedback into a musical secret weapon.”

FreqOut’s controls include the MOMENTARY switch which sets the operation of the footswitch. When set to ON, feedback will only be enabled as long as the footswitch is held down. When set to OFF, feedback will toggle between enabled and bypassed modes each time the footswitch is pressed. The TYPE knob lets players select which of seven harmonic types they want to feedback (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, Nat Low, Nat Hi and Sub). A row of Feedback LEDs light from the center out to show when the feedback signal is increasing. The DRY switch turns the dry (unaffected) guitar signal on or off when the effect is enabled, while the GAIN knob controls the amount of feedback signal that gets mixed with the dry signal. And the ONSET knob controls the time it takes for the feedback to begin after a note is played.

FreqOut also features a 1/4” instrument input/output and 9VDC power supply for seamless integration with pedal boards of any size. Rugged metal construction ensures that the pedal will stand up to the most rigorous live performances. True bypass electronics keep the signal path pure while the pedal is disengaged.

The FreqOut effect pedal will be available in March 2017 at $224.94 MSRP ($179.95 MAP).

DigiTech by HARMAN Unveils the Nautila Effect Pedal, Enabling Guitarists to Set Sail on a Sea of Swirling Modulation

New multi-chorus and flanger guitar effect pedal enables guitarists to shape, morph and control modulation sounds in exciting new ways

SALT LAKE CITY—DigiTech by HARMAN today introduced the Nautila guitar effect pedal, a new multi-voice chorus and flanger stompbox that enables guitarists to explore a wide range of fresh and innovative modulation sounds. Players can generate up to four chorus or eight flanger voices simultaneously, and then use the DRIFT knob to morph between different modulation waveforms in real-time. The robust feature set also includes true bypass electronics, stereo inputs and outputs, silent switching and rugged construction, making Nautila as practical as it is creative.

“Nautila is a fresh take on what’s possible with traditional chorus and flanger effects pedals, providing unique controls and an advanced feature set that enables guitarists to quickly blend and morph modulation sounds like never before,” said Tom Cram, Marketing Manager, DigiTech, HARMAN Professional Solutions. “From rich sonic swirls to creamy rhythmic waves, Nautila allows guitarists to set sail on a sea of amazing voices, textures and modulations.”

Nautila’s controls include a two-way toggle switch for selecting between the chorus and flanger effects as well as six knobs for controlling effect parameters. The DRIFT knob morphs and changes the shape of the modulation sweep, ranging from swirling chorus to smooth rhythmic waves. Using the VOICES knob, guitarists can add up to four flanger voices or eight chorus voices and create a variety of textural sounds. The EMPHASIS knob controls the high-pass filter for chorus and the regeneration of the effect signal for flanger. The SPEED, DEPTH and MIX knobs control the overall rate, depth and blend of the effects.

Nautila also features a unique secondary function for the on/off footswitch. When the effect is active and the footswitch is held, the modulation speed will “ramp” to the maximum speed wherever the effect sweep is in its cycle. When released, the modulation will resume back to the rate determined by the SPEED knob’s setting.

Stereo inputs and outputs provide guitarists with greater routing flexibility and allow for stereo amp setups, while true bypass electronics ensure a clean and transparent signal path. Nautila is powered by a standard 9-volt battery or optional external DC power adapter.

The Nautila effect pedal will be available in late June/early July 2016 at $187.44 MSRP.

DigiTech by HARMAN Introduces Firmware Update for Original TRIO Pedal and TRIO+ Manager for the new TRIO+ Band Creator + Looper

SALT LAKE CITY—DigiTech by HARMAN has released a firmware update for its original TRIO Band Creator pedal. The TRIO listens to the way users play and automatically generates bass and drum parts that match a song. Users simply plug a guitar into TRIO, select the preferred genre, press the footswitch to teach TRIO the chords and rhythm, then press the footswitch again to start playing with a customized personal band.

The TRIO can learn up to three different song parts which can then be recalled on-the-fly as the song plays back. An optional DigiTech FS3X Footswitch can be connected to the TRIO for easier, hands-free selection of song parts and styles.

The firmware update includes Enhanced Selectable Footswitch modes, a Pre-Select Style and a Tempo Hint feature using ALT-TIME, a button used to quickly try out an alternative interpretation of the song – usually half or double time. In addition, the bass now plays simplified, supportive lines lower on the neck for most non-acoustic bass styles.

DigiTech has also released TRIO+ Manager that allows for management of the SD card memory for TRIO+.  Songs can now be easily named, renamed and downloaded from the TRIO+ SD card to the computer and from the computer to the SD card. This makes it much easier for TRIO+ power users who use multiple cards for longer sets or writing sessions.

“Original TRIO users get several great new features and TRIO+ users benefit from much-needed song management,” said Tom Cram, Marketing Manager, DigiTech, HARMAN Professional Solutions. “These new firmware updates are a significant improvement for adopters of the Band Creator concept.”
