This model is the most versatile Overdrive Preamp DOD has ever crafted, and it is set to be released on September 25, 2025. With the 250-X, you can achieve everything from clean boosts and subtle grit to heavy distortion using the versatile three-position toggle switch, and yes…It’s True Bypass.

The toggle switch allows you to select from three different overdrive effects. In the original Silicon mode, you can capture the classic “70s” sound. The Lift mode eliminates all diode clipping, effectively transforming the 250-X into a simple boost pedal, which provides clean boosts at low gain and dirty boosts at higher gain settings. The Asymmetrical (ASYM) mode engages a rich, even-harmonic overdrive through its asymmetrical clipping circuit. With these three modes, you can craft your perfect tone.

This pedal shares similarities with its counterpart, the DOD 250-50th Anniversary pedal; however, it is not a limited edition and comes at a budget-friendly price. Like its brother, the 250-50th, it can operate at 9V, 12V, or 18V, allowing for more headroom as the voltage increases.
